Please be respectful in your comments if you want us to take your opinion seriously.

Changing subjects and available course numbers 1/9/14

1. Check which subjects have free spaces below, some are now full and are not listed. The 2nd column tells you how many places are left, the 3rd column are the entry requirements.

2. Check that you have a free space in the block you wish to change to. If you are doing a GCSE resit note where these are. Remember we are on a 2 week timetable - week 1 is blue, week 2 is yellow. Ther must be no clashes across your 2 weeks.

3. Check you have the entry requirements, to ensure you are on the right courses to be successful we cannot let students on courses that do not meet the specified grades.

4. Note down new subject in the relevant block on your timetable and cross out the one you wish to drop. Write in where the subjects go and hand this in to Jane from Wednesday. You will be given an arranged interview time.

5. Write on your timetable your reasons for changing the course - I want to know how it will benefit your progression plans for a career or points for Uni. "I didn't like it" is not a suitable reason, you have already had the opportunity to try these courses out during Taster Week.

6. You have until Friday 26th September to change a course. We will not accommodate any changes or dropping a course after this.

7. You will only have 1 opportunity to change courses, we wil not authorise any more disruptions to the class lists.

8. If we agree, you will need to complete the summer assignment to be allowed on the course within 2 weeks.

PLEASE NOTE as per the Student Agreement all students take 4 subjects to completion in Year 12. We do not allow students to drop below their Guided Learning Hours of 4 subjects.

Taster Week Online Confirmation of Subject Choices

Hi Post 16 Applicants,

Great to have worked with you this week, and thank you to those who successfully completed the Taster Week.

A reminder, you need to select 4 subjects from 5 blocks (you cannot pick 2 subjects from the same block)

Think carefully - these subjects will shape your future career and progression.
See the guidance under 'Informed Choices' and 'Your Subject Choices & Pathway - What, Why, Where?...' to help you see which go together.

Here is the LINK to the Online Confirmation of Subjects Form

Leave your email address so we can email our confirmation that we will add you to the class-lists of students for those subjects. Also for your complimentary (free) ticket for Leighfest 2014 on the 17th July!

Rememeber your place is conditional on you getting the entry grades on Results Day, and you completing the summer assignments/entry exams you were set.

I wish you the very best of luck with your results and look forward to enrolling you on the 21st August.
